The Bobbsey Twins Own Little Railroad- Laura Lee Hope

I started reading the book about the Bobbsey Twins. They are in the same family with two sets of twins, the younger twins are Freddie and Flossie and the older twins are Bert and Nan. The books are about mystery and are like a puzzle. The railroad mystery starts when the tracks disappear and then the train.

The Bobbsey Twins neighbor Mr.Dodge used to have children, now they are all grown up. When he had children they owned a little railroad. Mr.Dodge let the twins have it. When the twins went to see it, they put the tracks in the yard. They put the train on the track and went in the miniature train ,they road on it over and over again. Finally it was time to go. The next day they went to see the train, this time Mr.Dodge was there, when he saw the tracks he said there there was more tracks.

I liked this book because books of mystery and thinking are my favorite type of book.

The Autobiography of George Muller

George Muller was a man of faith who rose from obscurity to a great example of great faith. His father was a wealthy man who wanted George to have the best life he could have according to the world's standards. His father gave him material possessions, a worldly education, and more financial grace than he deserved. George Muller during his teen life into his 20's life a life very similar to the prodigal son. One difference between Muller and the prodigal son was, George Muller was at the time in Bible schools, and learning how to become a pastor. George Muller says it the best when he talks about his salvation and he says, "Despite my sinful lifestyle and cold heart, God had mercy on me." George Muller later went on a walk with a friend of his, Beta. Beta had told him of how he had been visiting a Christians home every Saturday for a prayer meeting. When George Muller heard this he said he had found the treasure he had been searching for during his sinful life. This is where George had become fully acquainted with the Gospel.

After being truly converted George Muller became a radical Christian. He had quickly created the habit of being in prayer for long periods of time and his prayers were sincere. This is what became the largest part of George Muller's ministry. George Muller then became a missionary in England. Here he preached and evangelized for a few years. George Muller felt though his missionary in Teignmouth was done, Teignmouth was the area he was working as a missionary, and he had been asked to help a friend, Brother Craik, in another town called Bristol. George Muller moved then to Bristol which is where he ministry was directly located for the rest of his life. After working with Brother Craik for some time, George grew in his faith of God to the point where he ever rejected a salary, but wholly relied on God to supply his needs. After living like this for some time, George Muller decided to show Christians that God supplies, so he decided to start an orphanage. After prayerfully considering it, he decided that if it was God's will he would get the buildings. Which he got a building for the orphanage on a small street. George Muller had one thing about this orphanage though that set it apart from most Christian ministries. He never asked for financial help, he never gave there needs out, and he only relied on God. George Muller tells of how he uses this orphanage to glorify God and to show Christians that God does supply. I recommend Christians to read this book to hear of the amazing testimony George Muller has and to hear the wisdom he shares on prayer and trusting in the Lord.

The Autobiography of George Muller

The Autobiography of George Muller was a very inspiring book, as well as a very convicting book. George Muller was a Godly man, with a very strong faith in God. He was best known for his many answered prayers, for the needs of the orphanages he owned. George Muller was a great example of what having true faith in God is, and what a real prayer life is.
But George Muller wasn't always such a godly man. In his teenage years George lived a life of sin. He stole money which was entrusted to his father and his father would have to make up the costs, and he had a major drinking problem. But George always felt terrible about the way he was living, and he was searching for a way to change, but everything he tried didn't work. But then one day one of his friends told him about this one family, who was having Bible studies at their house. So George went to the Bible study and after that his life began to change.
Then years later, Muller felt that God was calling him to start an orphanage. When he made the orphanage he made a commitment to never tell people of his needs and to never to go into debt. And he remained faithful to that commitment. And after every trial George's faith would get stronger and stronger. God answered just about every one of Muller's prayers, no matter how large of a need it was. George was able to support three one thousand orphans and also support many other missionaries, by fully relying on God.
The Autobiography of George Muller really convicted me to have a better prayer life. I would really encouraged anyone who is seeking to have greater faith, to read this book. This is a very inspiring book and it will really help to strengthen your faith.

The Autobiography of George Muller

The Autobiography of George Muller was written of course by George Muller himself. It is written in a journal form.
The part that spoke to me the most in this book, is not the part with the orphanage, but his life before this. The part of his life that most people don't know about. He started as a typical worldly man, living with no care for God or his Law. He was well educated and hoped to become a clergyman with a comfortable life. To get this living he would have to change his life drastically. Living a lie, he pretends to be a "Good Christian," but really he was just as bad as every other non-Christian. But God had a plan for him. In his 20's a friend of his invited him to a Bible study, and from this George Muller was saved, and his life transformed! He then became interested in missionary work, but his plans were changed and he started to preach, his way of preaching was not like normal preachers in that day, and people respected him very much. I really liked this part of his life, because you can see the change in his life. From a rebellious non-Christian, to a man completely for God.

I recommend this book for a family reading time, it makes good discussion. And it will open your eyes to how little our faith really is, and how much we have stopped praying. Please read this book!

A Doctor Like Papa-Natalie Kinsey Warnock

This story is about the sickness that spread badly in the 1918's and 1919's. It spread everywhere that parents were losing their children and children were becoming orphans. If you are wondering what the sickness is called it is Influenza. The main character in the story is named Margaret. Margaret's papa is the only doctor in the kingdom so it was hard trying to help people when they were dying so much because you have to come before the person dies so it was hard work. Margarets family never got sick. I'll tell you my favorite part its very funny all start: Someone called Margarets father because her husband died of the sickness she thought that her boy got it. When they came in the room there were pieces of plums everywhere. The boy was saying: I'm dying I'm dying! But here is the funny part actualy he had a stomacheache from eating to much plums. When I read this I laughed so hard.
I liked this book because it was funny and had a happy ending.
