Kayla's new Story

Kayla loves to write stories and I thought I would share her latest. Kayla is 8 years old and this story was written on March 7th, 2010. Enjoy and leave her a comment! She even used her typing skills and typed all of this herself!

The Kindly Wildcat
By: Kayla Noel Hebert

Once upon a time there was a little boy named John.Right now he was in search for his kitten Daniel. He started looking everywere. John hesitated a little as he started to look in the dangerous woods were his mother warned him about. All he thought that he was old enough to go by himself. At the foot of the woods he started calling Daniel's name. He went in the woods till he got farther and farther from home. He soon found out he was lost though he was to proud to admit it. Losing hope he settled himself on a tree stump throwing some leaves on it before he sat down. In the late August it was very windy and cold. All of a sudden after a time of peace and quiet he heard a huge ROAR! He looked and saw a cave he hadn't noticed before. There lay a wildcat cocking its head at him. It had roared to get his atention. The wildcat very curious about him. The wildcat ( which John called Levi.) seemed very content and happy to have company over. Levi, showed John to his house. There he saw Daniel run to him. Levi was pleased to see he had found his rightful owner. After days of being Levi and Daniel John's mother was very worried. John was thinking the whole time that his mother must be very worried. The next day after coaxing Levi to come with him the group of three set off. When they reached home John's mother ran to him. She almost fainted when she saw Levi. John told her that he was very nice and coaxed his parents in keeping Levi. They both agreed knowing he may be good for hunting, guarding the house etc. And now it has been a very good choice to keep Levi.

  2. Wow, what a very imaginative story you have there. I think I would have been quite frightened by Levi. Good thing for John that Levi was a "Kindly Wildcat." :)

I can't wait for you to meet Juliana. She also likes writing stories. Have you considered illustrating this one? Maybe your Mom could scan in your drawings and add them. I'd like to see John and his mother and Levi and Daniel all together!

GREAT JOB!!! Keep up the good creativity!!!

  7. Great Job Kayla! I love the part about how he was too proud to admin he was lost. We are often way to proud to admit simple things like that! It is a good reminder of what can happen to us when we are proud!

    I love you!
